I picked up cross stitching as a hobby after having not done any since I was a kid, and over time that evolved into wanting to learn more fabric crafts. I have always collected instruction books: recipes, craft ideas, cards, embroidery etc. I started teaching myself to sew and embroider out of these books (the jury is still out on the cooking). Most of my designs started off as a pattern I made from a sewing book, with improvements here and there. I love the flexibility of combinations between all the designs out there and all the supplies, and how I can combine them in any way I like. I like to take a normal design and by picking my fabrics and embellishments I can geek it up a bit, make it spooky, or just tailor it to match the home and preferences of the person who commissioned it.
