I've had chronic depression for more than a third of my life, and was struggling to be able to find hobbies that would work for me, or jobs that I could sustain. I started sewing in 2013 when I was gifted a sewing machine, and something clicked. For years I made things for me, my family, and friends; in 2019 I was finally convinced by them to sell to more people - that I had the skill and products that other people would want to buy.
I still sew to keep myself on a more or less even keel, and furthermore I really enjoy it. I get a lot of pleasure from how much other people enjoy the things I make, and now I feel like I have an excuse for my fabric stash! ;)
