About TurnerRound WoodTurning

TurnerRound WoodTurning

From Flight Line to Lathe. 14 years RAF Aircraft Technician. 25 years Master Woodturner. Precision-engineered art from the heart of Suffolk.

My work is an intersection of two lives. For 14 years, I served as a Royal Air Force Aircraft Technician, where I learned the unforgiving precision of flight and the beauty of high-performance engineering. For over 25 years, I have also been a master woodturner, exploring the chaotic, organic complexity of ancient British timber.

Today, under the TurnerRound brand, these two worlds collide.

I specialize in "Industrial Alchemy"—reclaiming retired aviation components, from Boeing 737 Wheel bearings to Tornado turbine housings, and marrying them with rare, local timbers like Burr Oak, Olive Ash and Spalted Beech. My background in the RAF ensures that every piece is handled with a technician's eye for detail and an artist's respect for form.

Based in Suffolk, I create one-of-a-kind functional sculptures for collectors who appreciate both the history of flight and the raw beauty of nature. Every piece is a titled edition, finished to museum standards in my private workshop.
