Hand stitched embroidery art for the niche, the strange, and the macabre

Threadnody is a play on words of "thread" referring to my medium of craft and "threnody" a song, poem, or lamentation especially for the dead, which I chose to represent the subjects and style of my embroidery; often black and white as if in mourning and originally created by artists long gone but not yet forgotten.
The subjects I choose to embroidery can come from a wide range of art styles, time periods and mediums but with needle and thread I turn them into bold, textured art pieces.

Based in wonderfully old city of Edinburgh, I'm currently an undergrad student majoring in Chemistry, and slowly building up my self taught skills in fibre arts one stitch at a time.
