Hello! My name's Frances and I'm a 23 year old music tutor, volunteer, musician and avid crafter and artist. 'Things by Frances' came about last year, soon after I had began to teach myself to crochet. Due to personal health struggles that put me out of work and general energetic action, I found that crocheting became a truly wonderful form of art to keep me inspired, creative and engaged, whilst also being a source for peace. As my skills improved, I preferred to make clothes for myself freehand, and also design original accessories such as flower earrings, hair pieces and bags. I have done a local market and have sold commissions and many gifts! I have to say, I love getting a compliment and saying 'thanks, I made it myself!'

I feel just the same with painting, which has been in my life for longer. As well as growing up as a musician, I was an arty kid and loved drawing. I stopped for a while in my teens, but I have been developing a new love for it in my early 20s, discovering new mediums and feeling confident in my own style. My current style I'm leaning into is watercolour/urban sketching. I live in Liverpool which I have much love for, and so I am enjoying painting as much of the city as I can!
