Hello there! I'm The Knutty Knotter, and my crafting journey is probably not what you'd expect. For a long time, I wouldn't have described myself as very practical, and honestly, patience and dexterity for crafting weren't exactly my strong suits. That is, until I discovered the amazing world of knotting!

It all started when I decided to make a rope side fender for my narrowboat. That process sparked something in me. Then, I bought some paracord with the simple intention of making a few miniature fenders as keychains. But as I was searching for paracord, I stumbled upon a whole crafting community I never even knew existed!

Since then, decorative and practical knots have absolutely fascinated me. I thoroughly enjoy the process of learning new knots, even though it can sometimes be wonderfully frustrating! It's become a genuine passion, much like the peaceful, ever-changing life on the canal that I share with my fiancée. My narrowboat is now my home and my creative workshop, the best office I could ask for.

My dedication to this craft runs deep – in fact, I'm a proud member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers (IGKT). This commitment ensures I'm always honing my skills and connected to the rich history and ongoing innovations in the world of knots.

The vibrant colours of nature, the hardworking spirit of the boats, the simple practicality of canal life – it all feeds into what I create. There's a certain calm attention to detail that comes from living at a slower pace, and I pour that same focus into every single knot.

Funnily enough, no cats aboard! As for furry companions, we're still considering if a boat cat or dog would fit into our floating lifestyle. For now, it's just me and my fiancée enjoying the peace and quiet (and feeding the occasional duck!).
