Skip & Oat is a UK-based brand that creates beautifully illustrated gifts, stationery, and homeware, all featuring my original hand-painted designs and inspired by nature.

Skip & Oat has been a dream of mine for so long, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.
I'm Katy (or Kate to some), the founder of Skip & Oat. I live by the sea with my husband and two kids and honestly, I can't imagine a life away from the coast - it's home.

I've been a graphic designer for 22 years, but I finally decided to follow my heart and see where this creative journey would take me. Skip & Oat has been a dream of mine for so long, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

I started Skip & Oat in 2021 during Lockdown, after being made redundant and needing an outlet for my creativity during home schooling (as part of the pandemic). I was inspired by the wood I saw in skips on my Lockdown walks and started to paint wooden signs for children's bedrooms mainly. However, during the same year my daughter became critically ill and I took a few years out to care for her. Family life was my priority.

I have since restarted Skip & Oat but with a new direction due to arthritis in my elbow, which stopped me from sanding down the wooden signs. I love my work and my new direction...so if you love colourful prints, thoughtful gifts and unique homeware inspired by the beauty of nature, you're in the right place!

My goal is to bring a little piece of nature indoors and add joy and vibrant colour to your home with my designs.
