It was when I visited my daughter’s chosen university town a few years ago, that we came across a jewellery shop, tucked away in a backstreet. It was a tiny shop-cum-workshop, specialising in silver jewellery and the jeweller there had been established in the town for many years. At the age of 48, this was the first time I had met someone who had a job I truly wanted. Inspired, I enrolled on an introductory silversmithing course at Nottingham Jewellery School, where I discovered both an appreciation for hand tools and the inner calm and peace that comes from creating in a workshop. It was just the beginning of a long list of satisfying tool purchases, an obsession with gemstones and many hours of experimentation and self-tuition ‘in the shed’. Art and craft have always been important to me. I love drawing, doll-making and crochet but, of all of these, I love making jewellery the most.
I’m married, with three children, the youngest of whom is now 18, and a black cockapoo called Dustin (after Dustin Hoffman, not from Stranger Things). I’m also a primary school supply teacher, which sometimes means I work in five different schools within the space of a week. Making jewellery is my calm refuge and creative outlet.
Birds, nature and the sea are some of my favourite themes. I like to create intricate and detailed pieces – sometimes miniature stories in silver. I hope my pieces will be a talking point; that they will lead to a conversation about jewellery that I will have started. I love the idea of that.

The pendant is a perfect gift for mermaid and moon lovers. It is great quality, a good size for a pendant as it’s not too big or small. Delivered promptly and well packaged. I would recommend this seller and her products.

I have been looking for a swan pendant for a while and this is just perfect. Beautiful pendant, a good size and skilfully made. Great use of moonstone for the feathers and copper for the beak.
