MY LOVE OF WOOD
I have always loved working with wood due to its natural beauty. I love to be at one with nature and this is what has inspired me to work with such a beautiful variety of natural woods. I get great pleasure from seeing a finished item and admiring its beauty. Since retiring I have had more time to pursue my passion of being creative with wood. I can't imagine a more relaxing or more rewarding hobby. I try to create items which I hope other people can enjoy as much as myself.
My items are made from reclaimed wood wherever possible. However should I have to buy wood then I always ensure that it is FSC and PEFC stamped and certified.
The (FSC) Forest Stewardship Council help take care of forests and the people and wildlife who call them home and is recognised by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) as the “hallmark of responsible forest management”.
The (PEFC) Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification works to protect forests by promoting sustainable forest management through certification.
I also often recycle the packaging materials that the items are dispatched in.

Received my order very quickly from SharpiesJustWood, well packed too. The coasters are lovely, very solid feel to the reclaimed wood which is beautifully finished and the Tree of Life on each is detailed and stands out against the pale wood. Finished with a varnish and 'bobbles' to the underside to protect your surface. Would certainly purchase again from Steve. Thank you.
