I spend most of the day making something and most of the night deciding what to make next !

My name is Julie, I have been married for 40 Years next year. My husband is my biggest supporter in all of my craft related ventures. I have three children and am grandmother to three. Family are everything and I love to spend time with them and make things for all of them

I am very out 'doorsy' and love long walks and camping with our fur baby. This summer my husband and I, along with Moby, the dog, all walked the Monsal trail, that was a hike and a half !

I have a multitude of hobbies and love my soft crafts including sewing, knitting, crochet and quilting. My love of creating from bits and bobs definitely began in my early childhood. I very clearly remember making dolls house furniture from anything and everything. I also recall raiding my nans sewing box for miscellaneous bits of fabric and yarn to make dolls clothes. In my teens I took up knitting, crochet and embroidery. I was passionate about the embroidery and was always working on something, took it everywhere with me and would whip it out whenever the opportunity arose.

In my 40's I began making jewelry as a hobby and eventually gave up work to open my own shop selling my handmade jewelry. For the past 15 years I have been sewing and quilting. Since all the children have now left home, I have commandeered the biggest bedroom as my sewing studio and the small bedroom is my office / shipping room !

I care greatly about the future of our planet and always try to reuse and recycle. I try to buy preloved wherever possible and like most crafters, I don't waste a thing ! I grow a lot of my own fruit and vegetables and preserve much of it. We also have a few rescued hens, we have been rescuing hens via 'Hen Welfare Trust' for approximately 25 years. We love our feathered friends, they are so entertaining. We are both committed vegans for the animals and the planet. I have also begun to buy fabric remnants in large quantities to make my craft tote bags so that it gets new life as a useful item.
