Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Capybaras and more themed party decorations

I was born in North Wales and grew up there, where you would always find me drawing, painting and making a general arty mess. I have always had a love for animals, hamsters being my favourite and I had many pet hamsters over the years! Later I moved to Liverpool when I was a teen, still drawing whenever I could, and still wanted pet hamsters!!

There was nothing else I wanted to do, so naturally when the time came I went on to Art College in Liverpool and then on to a Printed Textiles course at Loughborough University and earned my degree. After University I moved back to Liverpool, where I worked in bars for a number of years until deciding to pursue my own creative business and joined an art studio in the city centre, where I managed my bar work and working for myself.

I fell pregnant with my first daughter and decided to quit bar work and set up my own studio at home, where I lived with my now husband Lee and our two dogs Barney and TJ, and that is where I built up my business and today it has evolved into Sarah Drummond Illustration.

Initially I created plush toys of real pets, mainly dogs, which I loved creating, and my favourite was creating Christmas Tree decorations of the dogs. But I felt like I needed more and wanted to get back to my love of drawing and painting.
During the first covid lockdown we had a pet hamster called Lulu and this is when I started drawing hamsters and taking custom orders for other people's pet hamsters. And with this came the idea to create my drawings and paintings into bunting, cake toppers, wrapping paper and greeting cards.

I have now moved to Formby with my husband and daughter, and our second daughter who came along 3 years ago, our dog Barney and two cats Willow and Caspian. And hopefully another hamster soon! I am still working from home and have created more products of Guinea Pigs, Capybaras, Mice, Dogs and more coming soon!
