artist and printmaker in rural Somerset by the sea

My little studio, nestled in the corner of my garden Is where I create original artwork inspired by my local area, between the Levels and the sea in rural Somerset.
I mainly work in linoprint, but also enjoy collagraph and drypoint. Each piece starts as a photo or sketch from my wanderings. Inspiration comes from a bird, a view through the trees, or family watching the sunsetting over the Bristol Channel. I then draw it out on the lino, carve it with my hand tools, ink it up and then print using either my tiny hand press or an old spoon to transfer the image to the paper.
l often use use scraps and seconds to create small collages, cards and bookmarks.

Some of my pieces have been exhibited in small galleries. I recently won a prize in an international celebration of printmaking, printdayinmay.

I have had some of my work professionally printed onto products such as coasters.

My husband Barry is the woodcarver. His fabulous birds are made from wood he salvages from fallen trees at his place of work, and old furniture. His favourite thing to carve is owls. Look out for the light pulls.

Due to cost, and new EU regulations, I can only ship to the UK.
