I'm Kit, a historical reenactor & plant dyeing fanatic!
I got started in historical reenacting whilst at university for Archaeology, and 6 years in I found my crafting passion - plant dyeing! Four years later I've honed my craft enough to have produced a full rainbow of dyed wools and (several!) complete outfits for myself & my family at reenactment.
I generally work from home, or dye at reenactment shows as part of my display there, using cauldrons set up over an open fire. When I'm at home its a much less glamourous affair involving my garage & some hot plates! I process my wools & do my Lino prints in my craft room, usually "helped" by my rescue cat, Mabel. I am non binary, and I love the outdoors, meaning I forage for my dye materials as much as I can!
For several years I've had friends, fellow reenactors, and members of the public alike asking me whether I sell my dyed wools, so a couple of years I started to sell a few at events, and now I want to move online!
