Hello, I'm Mandy
I work from my little home studio here in Nottingham. It overlooks our beautiful garden, and I'm often distracted by the birds, bees and butterflies that visit!
When I am working though, It is here where I am at my happiest; designing, making and creating art and hand stitched accessories.
I often use hand painted fabrics in my work; creating my own mix of colours inspired by my walks in nature, and with these I create my unique handmade items, adding texture with stitch, and sometimes incorporating a nature inspired motif or two with my own lino cut designs.
I take a mindful approach to my work, both in the way I stitch, and in the sourcing of sustainable fabrics, often using pre-loved and vintage finds that I repurpose, making every effort to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Everything I create is 'totally hand stitched' and handmade by me. It can take many hours to create one item and no sewing machines are used in the making process.
I believe there is something very special about a truly handmade item.
You not only receive the creation, you also receive a little piece of the creators heart within that creation, making it extra special!
