Distinctive and unique - original handmade jewellery

I started making jewellery many years ago, as a teenager, when the costume jewellery of the time made my skin come out in a rash - so I started making simple jewellery for myself from beads and string. Over time my interest in creating unique pieces led me to intricate beadwork and wire work and finally to metalsmithing and enamelling. I've taken courses in silversmithing but most of my learning process has been through trial and error, and a lot of practice!

Handmade jewellery is so special - it's made to last and because each piece is made individually, by hand, it is truly unique. I absolutely love the freedom of creating whatever I want and often make one off items of jewellery, especially with semi precious stones that are totally "one of a kind" in the way they are cut or their colour and markings.
Everything is made with recycled sterling silver and I recycle all my scrap so there's no waste - and use non toxic alternatives in my processes.

I have a small studio set up in a room in my house that looks out over the garden and it's such a great feeling to close the door and sit at my bench where I can hear the birds, ready to create something new.
Handmade jewellery means so much more than mass produced pieces from the high street and I really enjoy the process of designing and making individual pieces.
