More than a hobby—an addiction.

I am retired and live in Essex with a dominating pooch called Poppy.

As well as mosaicking, I'm also a writer, and my muse begged me to make her beautiful. She watched as I transformed porcelain cats, and a motley assortment of jugs rescued from charity shops. She gritted her teeth as I sliced mugs, vintage cups and teapots into halves. She has inspired me with words and pictures. Words often appear in my mosaic work, on wall panels and jugs. Some thought-provoking. Some humorous.

I've lived my life in the art community as a freelance pet portrait artist, an art and craft tutor in adult education and leader of craft and writing groups in the U3A. I was an active craft stallholder and an event organiser when craft fairs first began.

So when did I begin mosaic? When I retired I fancied doing something different. I have dabbled with papercrafts, collage, batik, silk painting, marbling and many other crafts. A mosaic course at the local adult education centre caught my eye, and I was hooked by the end of the first session.

I have explored traditional techniques for fifteen years, creating wall panels and objet d'art that cover my walls and fill my shelves. I have sold on various market places but I love to create—not promote. So being here on Folksy is my determined effort to share my work with others.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work. I no longer accept commissions but may have something you would like but haven't advertised. Believe me, I have a houseful of my work that my family have no wish to inherit! I would put a grinning emoji here if I had one.
