About Katie Moore Studio

Katie Moore Studio

My goal is to create art that brings a sense of peace, inspiration, and joy into your space.

My name is Katie, founder of Katie Moore Studio. From a young age I’ve been captivated by the process of creating – from drawing and painting, to sewing and scrapbooking. I’d spend hours during my childhood summer holidays each year illustrating summer books with the memories made from days out exploring. At school, Art and Graphic Design were my favourite subjects, sparking a lifelong passion for expressing ideas through colour, form and composition. At Exeter College I completed Graphic Design at A levels, and continued a third year to study Fashion and Textiles.

I travelled the world for a year with my partner; immersing myself in different cultures and landscapes, providing endless inspiration to my art and fuelling my love for nature. We then moved to Syndey, Australia, it was during my time here that after a ten year career in IT, I decided it was time to pursue my true passion – art. I completed a Surface Pattern Design course, immersed myself in numerous workshops and courses, from eco hand dying, charcoal still life, a photoshop course, to a slow stitching class where I met Lorna Murray who was hosting the workshop. This led on to an internship with Lorna; a sustainable fashion designer at the time, running her apparel studio sales and working on private commission art pieces. I was also lucky enough to do some work experience with the talented Bethany Linz.

In 2016 my husband and I made the decision to return back to the UK to be close to family, and I am now based in beautiful Devon with my family. Nature has always been my refuge, a place I have turned to, especially as I embarked on my journey into motherhood. To feel connected and grounded by the natural beauty around us. Through my work, I strive to bring nature’s quiet beauty to life, one watercolour at a time. I hope you too can find joy in my work, and invite some pieces in to your home.
