About Karina Isobel Art

Karina Isobel Art

I paint to express and preserve the atmosphere of the world we all experience.

After finishing sixth form in June 2025, I turned a spare bedroom into my art studio, and have been painting there ever since with a dream of showing people how painting expressively can bring a picture to life! I'm Karina, a hobby photographer and aspiring artist taking inspiration from the world I experience around me to paint the vibrant energy and perfect imperfections of life.

Currently, I paint mostly in acrylics, focusing largely on nature and animals because I think there is something beautiful about capturing their character and freedom from the stillness of a photograph. Of course, I started with my own cats and dog, however I have also begun to take on pet portrait commissions, and it's truly a delight to have people put their faith in my skills!

Art at school taught me to experiment with materials and subjects, and so I also work with a range of mixed media to create interesting textures in my work and stay away from photo-realism. I have enjoyed studying countless artists such as Ian Murphy and Rene Wiley, and painting everything from people to architecture, which I think has helped me to better understand my strengths and weaknesses, and become a more versatile artist.

I have always loved to create, and now in one of my paintings, you too can experience a little part of my passion!
