Welcome to Glass Lore!
I’m Emma and I adore working in stained glass. The range of colours, the shine, and the ways it changes with the light makes every piece of stained glass feel special. Having worked in a wide range of materials I have finally found the medium that allows my ideas to flow.
Glass is perfect to describe the magical, delicate qualities of the natural world I have always been fascinated by. I often make work about the flora and fauna I have seen and photographed on my travels and my walks in the Yorkshire countryside.
I make all Glass Lore pieces in my little home studio and am often supervised by Fen the cockapoo.

Emma Fraser - currently an art teacher at the oldest state school in the country, I stepped back as head of department to follow a slower pace of life and started stained glass in January 2024, and Glass Lore a few months later. I have a BA in Fine Art: Painting and Drawing from Huddersfield University, have exhibited work internationally, as well as creating exhibition opportunities for my students. I returned to art after completing my first BA in Ancient History from Durham University. I also have a PGCE in Secondary Art, Craft, and Design and think that the craft bit is extremely important!

The decoration is beautifully made and looks even better in real life than in the photographs.

Absolutely perfect, and the recipient loved it! And as it was wrapped so securely, I also had the excitement of waiting to see what lucky dip toadstool that I got for my friend.

I saw these are a local market and photos do not do them justice of how beautiful they really are. I couldn't afford it at the market but as soon as I got paid I came straight here so I could snag one up! There's so many I want! This one was for my mum for her birthday and she absolutely loved it.
