From My Home to Yours – Upcycled Creations, Everlasting Blooms!

Hello, I'm Lorraine – a mum to four daughters and a son, a happy homemaker, and the hands behind Florals and More by Lorraine. I’ve always had a passion for flowers, vintage touches, and breathing new life into forgotten items. What began as a love for crafting has grown into a joyful small business where I create floral arrangements using upcycled tins, jars, and other treasures, many decorated with decoupage and filled with beautiful silk blooms.

I first started using decoupage to decorate old tin cans as a fun and creative way to make storage pots for my teenage children and other family members. These little tins turned out to be incredibly useful – they’ve been used for everything from pens and pencils to kitchen utensils (by my university student daughters), makeup brushes and home office bits (by my eldest), and even as a special treasure pot for my nephew’s marble collection! It made me realise how many possibilities there were in such a simple item.

Then one Mother’s Day, I decoupaged an old tin watering can and filled it with blush roses and cream lilies for my mum. That little project sparked a new idea – why not fill my decorated tins with flowers as well? I soon made one for my mother-in-law too, and from there, my range of small florals was born.

I now work from my kitchen table at home, where each piece is made with care and love. I post my items using recycled cardboard boxes and packaging wherever I can, and I source many of my artificial flowers from charity shops that sell brand new supplies – it’s a lovely way to support good causes while finding beautiful materials.

Each piece I make is inspired by the beauty of nature, the charm of handmade gifts, and the joy of creativity. I believe every home deserves a touch of floral happiness, and I’m so pleased to share that with you through Florals and More by Lorraine.
