Hi! I'm Sammy and I love to craft with the help of my tabby cat Monkey! Here I am drinking a bougie coffee, in a dress I made out of a charity shop table cloth!
I did my degree in Textile Crafts and ended up in corporate jobs to pay the bills, so sewing and knitting and spinning all became hobbies I did in my free time for pleasure. Following redundancy from my job as an industrial sewing machinist, some 13 years after graduating...! I have finally taken the plunge and started attending markets with my hand crafted goodies and posting all about my making on tiktok and insta under auspicious.stitch where I would love to connect with you <3
When I started spinning years ago I couldn't justify the purchase of a drum carder, so just made do with what I could blend on my hand carders and dreamed of the day I could spin with lovely big batts of fibre in thrilling colourways, now my dream has come true and I would love to share my batts and handspun yarn with you so you can spin, knit and weave your dreams. If you have certain colourways or ideas, I'm here to make them happen.
I also have a keen interest in upcycling existing fabrics, especially 100% silk neck ties I buy from charity shops and turn into scrunchies!
