Addicted to beads

I trained in Exeter and Birmingham, studying for a BA in jewellery design. Since then I have moved around quite a bit, but always carried on making. I became enthralled with beads whilst working as a jiobbing jeweller in Halifax and Lancaster. I taught myself to mend and rethread pearl and bead necklaces and through that experience became aware of the infinite variety of beads in size, colour, material and texture. In my work I use a mix of old and new, precious and non-precious. I very much enjoy contrasts in colour and texture as I have come to believe that this adds energy and vitality to a piece of jewellery.
