Welcome to Abigail's Room, where each item has its own story to tell. Our carefully curated collection of home decor includes everything from cushion covers to original art, as well as handmade lavender bags filled with lavender from our own garden and intricately embroidered wall art. Aside from our unique paintings , the majority of our offerings are crafted from recycled materials. Sustainability has been at the heart of our operations since 2005, albeit under a different shop name.
Due to the artisanal nature of our production process, we operate as a box room business, utilising handheld tools and a sewing machine. At Abigail's Room, our goal is to provide customers with handcrafted pieces that embody a timeless charm with a contemporary twist. Our commitment to artisan country living shines through in every item we present, enabling customers to personalise their homes with creations that resonate with their unique style and personality.
When discussing my creative journey, I often refer to my tendency for creative exploration—what I like to call ‘creative ADD’. This passion drives me to experiment with various techniques and materials, allowing me to produce distinctive and aesthetically pleasing pieces—though I have yet to explore pyrography or woodworking! As I embraced new skills, I decided to embark on this fresh venture.
The shop's name was inspired by a conversation with my niece, Abigail, who once dreamt of having her own store selling handmade bags (though her interests now lean towards hats). Abigail, the eldest of four sisters, often had her siblings ‘borrowing’ items from her room. This recollection of childhood antics—a time when I too would sift through my sister's belongings—brought back fond memories of the thrill of discovering unique treasures, especially those special finds that the eldest sibling seemed to possess, thanks to their first job and newfound ability to shop at small, distinctive stores. At Abigail's Room, we aim to revive that sense of discovery for adults, offering a selection of treasures that cannot be found in larger retail chains or online marketplaces. We pride ourselves on creating an experience that celebrates the charm of finding something truly special. And rest assured, Abigail has kindly granted her written approval to utilise her name.
