My privacy policy

I Zoe Hodgson am the data-controller of your personal information as it relates to my shop.

When you place an order from me, I will receive your name, delivery address and email address from Folksy. I will only use these details to process and deliver your order, or deal with any queries you have related to that order. If you send me a message using the contact button on Folksy, I will receive your username and email address.

The only circumstances in which I will share your data are in processing your order or complying with the law. I will never use or pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes or any other purpose, other than the circumstances listed below, or add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent. The circumstances in which I may share your data are:

• With Folksy to comply with my obligations.

• With delivery companies to fulfil your order.

• To comply with legal or tax obligations.

I will only retain your details for as long as necessary in order to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. I retain personal data related to orders or customer queries for six years. After this time I will delete your data from my records.

You have the right to know what personal data I hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed or deleted. You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you believe there is a problem with the way I handle your data.

About Zoe Ruth Designs

I enjoy finding the simple beauty in the natural world around us, finding inspiration in the shapes, textures and patterns I see.

I then endeavour to bring these elements into my designs to create pieces which are both beautiful and enjoyable to wear. I am often influenced by the materials themselves as I play and create through my design process, enjoying the natural evolution of a collection. I often find it is this playing which brings about new ideas and directions for my work.

Much of my work is created in sterling silver, some pieces bring copper into play using their individual characteristics to emphasise the texture and beauty I want to capture in a particular piece. Some designs also incorporate semi-precious stones giving pastel shades, pops of bright colour, or the patterns found naturally in the stone to complement the design I have created.

My creative base is my Northamptonshire based home studio, with some tools passed down from my Grandad, a flourishing garden outside my workshop window, our cat and aquarium bring movement and happiness, and my family bring the love and laughter, all very important elements to my creative nature. Sustainability is a conscious factor in my day to day, I pay attention to the companies I buy my materials from, and I always aim to make eco-conscious choices.

Attending artisan fairs is a part of my job I enjoy, meeting both customers and fellow artists, chatting about the design and creation of my work, and sharing in that love of artistic skills. Taking part in exhibitions gives me scope to develop new pieces and experiment with new ideas, finding the balance of my work and other creative souls. You will also find me teaching jewellery making workshops, sharing that joy of playing and creating, the pride of making something yourself and the social side of sharing that experience with likeminded people is so important to our wellbeing and something I am a great advocate of.
