Hobbit Craft... Sleepy of the Shire... The Wood Elf. No... just a woman whittling.

Everything I put on here has been made with a few hand tools and some acrylic paints. My output is small because of my health, but every carving is unique and 100% made by me.

Each figure is shaped, sanded, and coated with mineral oil before being painted with acrylic, varnished, and finished with a coat of beeswax. Then they are ready to go out into the world.

I was forced to give up a 20+ year career in the NHS due to ill health. For years, I was mostly bedbound with long COVID. I'm still mostly housebound, but luckily, I'm now able to put some of my energy into small-scale wood carving.

I don't have the room for a band saw. So it is just me in the corner of the room with hand saws, knives and gouges.
