Hi I’m Jo from a young age, stitching has been a central part of my life. My passion for patchwork and quilting, nurtured since my school days, eventually blossomed into a thriving business. In the early 2000s, after completing my degree in fashion design I established a bricks-and-mortar store dedicated to offering a wide variety of fabrics—catering not only to quilting enthusiasts but also to dressmakers. The versatility of cotton fabrics was especially inspiring, transforming the store into a vibrant carnival of colour and creativity.
Together with lessons I had a dream to get the community stitching as I felt that this skill was beginning to get missed.
As the years passed, the family business continued to grow and flourish, requiring the dedication and involvement of many hands. However, as life led family members in different directions and personal health challenges arose, it became increasingly difficult to continue operating the business together. After much consideration, we made the decision to sell the business, marking the end of that colourful and rewarding chapter.
I have still got that passion and feel that there still needs to be a outlet for sewing in the UK.
