Im an up-cycling mixed media fibre artist living and working in Yorkshire. I combine needle felting, wet felting, waste material, up-cycled scraps and recycled fibres to create unique landscapes full of colour, texture and light. My work is inspired by the area I live in and you can regularly catch me out taking photos which I use as source material. My landscapes show the deep connection I have for Yorkshire and the environment.
My name, Seven Hands, comes from the hand paintings found in the Lascaux caves in France. The early artists used to put ochre in their mouths, work it into a liquid and then spit it around their hands creating a silhouette. I just love the family group of hands, it's like artists reaching across time, all of us leaving our mark.

I often view Sarah's textile artwork. When I saw the image of this brooch, I just couldn't resist. I also wanted to purchase a second brooch, though it was already sold.
