Hello! Louise here from Sandgate Glass. Welcome to my little shop. Here you will find my fused glass and beaded items.
Each fused glass piece is handmade by me in my spare room ( or, as I like to call it when i am feeling posh, my home studio)
Every item is unique due to the handmade nature, there are no mass produced items here, so you can be sure of getting a one of a kind piece made with lots of love. Each piece is made from several layers of hand cut glass carefully placed together and fired in my kiln at tempratures of over 800 degrees. Sometimes these items then need to be drilled and fired again, i have to be very patient which isn't always easy
I am inspired by nature and also anything bright and cheerful. I have been interested in fused glass for a few years and have taken
several glass making lessons. I could also open a library with how many books on the subject I own! Learning never stops though, and I am always excited to try a new technique. I am still filled with anticipation and excitement when I open the kiln after it as been fired.
When making , I am usually joined by my little helper, William the black pug. He likes to keep an eye on what I am up to! I am also supported by my fiance, John, who has endless patience with my love of glass and also taking over the spare room.

All three pendants are beautiful. I intended to keep one myself and and give the other two as presents, but they are all so lovely I mayhave to keep them all!!
