About RoseandHen

RoseandHen

Limited edition linocut prints capturing moments in time.

Hello and welcome to my little corner of Folksy, I'm very excited to be part of a community celebrating handmade British crafts. Based in the village of Stamford Bridge near York, I create limited edition linocuts capturing moments in time, from bees sipping nectar from sunflowers, favourite places on the Yorkshire coast, or a stroll through the streets of York.

I am lucky to live in such a beautiful location between historic York and the rolling beauty of The Wolds, with access a wealth of inspiration close by. My style is contemporary with a modern, yet classic feel, and many of my prints are based on photographs I’ve taken, like a walk on Whitby North Beach on New Year’s Day. All my prints are hand carved using specialist tools on lino, and then printed using Hawthorn Printmakers inks, who are located just 2 villages from me. It’s always lovely to visit them for new supplies and a chat.

My shop name is an amalgamation of my kids names (Evie Rose and Henry). Evie gave Hen his nick name when he was a baby, and it's stuck ever since, so of course it had to be Rose & Hen.

I share lots of my printing processes on social media, so if you are interested in looking at what goes on behind the scenes and seeing how my prints are made, please follow me on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook or TikTok. If you’d like to stay in touch regarding which events I’ll be exhibiting at, sign up for my newsletter which is located under blog.

Thank you so much for being part of my creative journey and supporting a small independent business, Carrie xxx
