Handmade, Waldorf inspired dolls for imaginative play

My name is Lydia and I am the designer and maker behind Polly had a Dolly. I have designed and made things all my life, studying design at university and working in the creative industry. Now I live in Staplehurst, Kent, and I am a mother. I am passionate about providing a fun, inspirational and educational environment for my girls which nurtures their creativity and ingenuity.

Through my doll making I try to bring back a part of childhood that seems forgotten. That innocence of playtime which only requires the very basic to stimulate a universe of imagination.

My dolls have simple expressions and use natural materials to allow the child's creativity to develop. When designing a doll I think about the child and how they will play with the doll, their age and what they need their doll to be. All my dolls are CE marked and safe for children.

I care about our environment so I use natural materials and make dolls to last. I source high quality fabrics and the stuffing is 100% British lambswool. Of all the natural materials I use the British lambswool stuffing is the most important. It is the best filling for dolls as it absorbs body heat making it super comforting; it has a density and weight which is reassuring; and, practically it is naturally antibacterial, eco friendly and fire-retardant. I also import specialist doll fabrics from The Netherlands direct from the manufacturer.

I provide full washing and care instructions with all my dolls. Each dolly comes with a dolly hospital pass where I will repair the dolly for its lifetime.

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES - MY RETURNS POLICY
I want you to fall in love with your lovely dolly but if, for any reason, you don’t you can return it to me. Please let me know within 14 days from the day after it has been delivered to you.

If the dolly is returned in its original condition, I will exchange or refund the purchase price plus the original delivery costs. I will refund you, by the same means as you paid, within 14 days of receiving it back.

You must send the dolly back to me within 14 days from when you have told me that you wish to cancel. You will have to pay the return postage costs and please make sure that the dolly is packaged properly to make sure that it is in the same condition that you received it, if not I may have to reduce any refund for handling the dolly beyond what is reasonable to decide whether or not you like it.

I will refund the return postage if the dolly is faulty - I hope this is never the case!

Of course I do respect your normal consumer rights, so if there is something wrong with the doll please let me know. All dollies come with a free 'dolly hospital' pass and I will repair them for the lifetime of the doll, but only if the dolly has only been used for normal play. Please contact me by e-mail (lydia[at]pollyhadadolly.co.uk) and we will decide how we can best treat your dolly, or, where appropriate, agree on a refund.

SHIPPING - MY DELIVERY POLICY
On each listing is the lead time for each doll. Larger dolls take longer to make and so have a longer time. I may be able to be flexible on this so please do contact me if you want something quicker. I also have ready-made dolls available.

I use Royal Mail for delivery; and will send by 2nd class small parcels to keep postage costs low for you. Delivery costs are added when you place your order. If you are in a rush and need something quickly please contact me and we can arrange next day delivery at an extra cost (UK only).
