Capturing treespeak in paintings.

My paintings are inspired by trees and allow me to immerse myself in the woods whenever I get out a paintbrush. Trees are a part of nature that seems so full of wisdom as they change and adapt with the seasons, the light, the wind, the environment, but also how they are integrated into life - or even abused, like the Sycamore gap tree. There is a sense of balance and connection there - one that is so important for personal and collective well-being.

My creations are built up organically in layers - just like bark - and then a reductive technique is applied to reveal intricate patterns and textures indicative of woodlands, trees, branches and bark. My paintings are meant to be felt, emotionally and physically - they are best displayed in frames without glass allowing the viewer to see, as well as feel the textures.

Each painting is unique - even to me - the paintings evolve and grow naturally - exactly like nature.
