My creative journey started in North West Norfolk, UK. As a young child I was always drawing and painting. Art and Textiles were my passions at school & college. I attended Goldsmiths College, University of London, where I studied BA Honours in Textiles After graduating I spent sometime teaching workshops to adults & children in Textiles. After completing a Post Graduate Education certificate at Homerton College, Cambridge, I started a career as an Early Years Teacher as I enjoyed developing the creativity in the children.
I left teaching to look after my son.
For the last 4-6 years I have really enjoyed and been inspired by needle felting. I work from my home in North West Norfolk. I enjoy the manipulation of the merino fleece and how colours can be blended and details can be added by shaping the fleece into various textures & patterns whilst using the felting needle. I find the whole creative process relaxing and very satisfying. Initially I use to make coloured /patterned necklaces. Then I focused on hand felted Christmas Decorations that I sold locally whilst living for a few years in Kent.
My interest in gardening and flowers has led me to now creating these beautiful floral felted wall-hangings. Each piece is a one of a kind creation. In a 'throw away' culture I love making things that last' Finally I have chosen Folksy to share and sell my work because of their focus on British Craft. The community feel and their ongoing support for makers and sellers is so inspiring.
