My love of crafting first started when I was young and I used to copy my Dad's calligraphy. Over the years I've added lots of crafts to the medley, including sewing, macrame, pyrography, glass etching, crepe paper flowers and needle felting, all of which I have taught myself.
Crafting and camping/hiking are probably my biggest passions in life - they allow me to escape from the every day stresses that life can throw at you. I can often be found in the middle of a meadow, camping with my partner and surrounded by a pile of macrame cord. What could be better than that!
My best friend Jemma was always my biggest fan, she used to tell me all the time that I should set up an online shop to showcase the things that I make. I never took her words seriously until unfortunately I couldn't hear them again. Jemma sadly passed away from breast cancer and so now I have created 'Motley Jems' as a memorial to the amazing person that she was. She always had faith in my abilities as a crafter even in the early days when I certainly didn't.
She is always in my thoughts and I especially hear her words in my head when I am creating something new.
