Hello — I’m Kris, the maker behind KnotJustBark along with my dog Sol the Bedlington.
I first picked up woodworking about ten years ago to fix things around the house, but quickly realised it was much more than a hobby — it became an outlet for creativity and mindfulness.

Over time, I started designing and crafting pieces that celebrate the warmth and simplicity of wood. Each item is handmade in my small workshop, combining clean design with a respect for natural materials.

Sustainability and materials

Every piece is made using FSC-certified or reclaimed timber, chosen for its quality and character. I focus on highlighting the natural grain and tone of the wood itself, keeping finishes simple and minimal. Nothing goes to waste — even small offcuts are repurposed into new designs wherever possible.

Inspiration from nature

Much of my inspiration comes from the outdoors — from gardening, foraging, and time spent among trees. Nature influences my choice of materials and colours rather than the shapes themselves, which tend to be clean, balanced, and contemporary.

Craft and commissions

Each piece is designed, cut, and shaped by hand, meaning no two are ever quite the same. I don’t offer personalised products, but I do take on commissions if the idea feels right for the brand — so if you have something special in mind, feel free to get in touch.
