Thankyou for stopping by. My name is Julieanne, I am an animal and wildlife artist, living in North Down.
I am new to selling my art and drawings. I am a member of the UK Colour Pencil Society. I was lucky enough to be offered an opportunity to sell my art in shops, based in the North and South of Ireland. However I decided against this and did not take the opportunity as it is really important to me to sell only a very small limited number of fine art prints matched to my work. I also want to ensure there is a personal touch. I want to fill my own little online shop with whimsical and unique drawings that can not be found on the high street. In turn this means my customers receive something really special and a piece of art that can be admired forever. My prints are all archival using museum quality paper and the finest inks on the market. All come with a certificate of authenticity.
During the first years of childhood I grew up near fields, countryside and farmland, I always loved drawing and nature as a child. I taught myself to draw and there was always a sketch book and pencils in the basket of my bicycle. I loved nothing more than exploring nature, animals and drawing.
When leaving School I took art to GCSE level and excelled, my Art Teacher (Mr Bennett) encouraged me however, life got in the way and I didn’t draw again at all for many, many years until July 2024! Fast forward to July 2024, I was sitting at my kitchen table one sunny morning with a cup of tea, I picked up my daughter's graphite pencil and started to draw. It came to me and it was natural. I drew a chick and then a bird and then a squirrel. (My daughter was doing Art GCSE and of course her pencils and paints were scattered all over our food table, I gave into the temptation and drew, my daughter, well she went on and got an A in her GCSE Art!). I went onto sell my art at Christmas markets.
I am learning all over again and absolutely love it!
I like drawing with Pablos, Luminance and Polychromos. These are lightfast and the best pencils on the market. My go to paper, is Fabrano Artistico 640gsm. I adore animals and try to capture the essence of the animal particularly at the start when I draw the eyes. I am interested in botanical drawing and that will be something I explore later next year!
My artwork is sent away locally and professionally colour matched to my original drawings. All my fine art prints are limited, as I continue to draw new artwork is available. Some drawings take well over 30, some are 40 hours, so it is definitely a process.
I also attend some markets such as the majestical Belfast Castle and do well, it has spurred me on, all the lovely feedback. and nice people I have met.
Some of my art is sold in mounts, some unmounted and some in frames, I like to give you a choice.
Wouldn't it be amazing if my Art Teacher could see me now pushing myself on? he would love it.......
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you find something you like.
Thank you, Julieanne x
