Hello and welcome to my little Folksy shop!
I’m based in West Yorkshire and make my artwork in my spare time. I love to create handmade mixed media art combining wire, paint, pencil, wording, interesting papers; textured, patterned or handmade. I often hand stitch onto the pieces as well. Wire is so versatile and has such malleability. It adds dimension and structure. Cups of tea & coffee, cats, flowers, nature, geometric shapes and architecture are my favourite inspirations. Oh and love of course! The pieces are all my own designs and are created by me. From traditional cottage to modern contemporary in style and so will suit any style of home.
Please message me if you can't quite find what you're looking for, or if you'd like something in a different colour or size, I'm more than happy to take requests.
The artwork will be gift wrapped and can be posted directly to a recipient, just let me know. I'll add a handwritten note as well.
I try to recycle whenever I can, so the outside packaging may not always look perfect!

Hey, I’m Judy, some friends call me Jude, Jue, Judy Cludey, Jue Clue!
I’ve always loved art, as a child, my most favourite subject at school was art. All I wanted to do was to be an artist. I grew up in Warrington and gained a place on an Art Foundation Course at Padgate College. It was an amazing year of starting to discover myself as an artist. I then gained a place to study a Constructed Textiles Degree at The John Moores University in Liverpool. I remember being so excited that I was going to be able to use a loom! However, sadly the course changed dramatically and unfortunately, I just didn’t manage to change with it. I never did get to use that beautiful beast of a loom. My confidence knocked, I lost my way with my art, took a year out, was allowed to return to finish my final year but I’d fallen out of love with art, well with my art.
I moved to London after finishing my degree. In the big wide world, I had to work full time and I drifted further away from art. Though I always kept my degree filled art folder close by. Fast forward many years, now with my partner and our son, I was lucky enough to change from full time to part time to spend more time being a mum. With a little bit more time, I started visiting art galleries and it was like coming home! I regained that craving for art. Wanting to be closer to family, we made the decision to relocated back up north, to a lovely village called Gildersome in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Then Covid 19 hit, I wouldn’t advise to up route and move during a pandemic! I’m still working part time at King’s College London as a Student Support Officer, I’ve been working for the uni for about 20 years! I work remotely, travelling back to London once a month. My son doesn’t need me quite as much and when I turned 50, I decided to try and get back into my art. An oldie but a newbie artist then I guess!
So welcome to my little Folksy shop! I’m calling myself a mixed media artist. I especially love working with wire, I love how you can shape it. I love how it shines! I also like using different types of papers, handmade, textured, coloured, tissue, crepe. Brown wrapping paper textured with white gouache and acrylic paint is a favourite of mine. I hand stitch on to some of my art pieces using an array of different coloured thread. I like to use gold, silver and bronze threads as well to add that bit of shimmer! I love to layer up art materials, to try and bring my art off the page. I also paint using watercolour, gouache, acrylic and drawing inks. I add texture with tissue paper, crepe paper and use pencil, oil pastels to add more detail. Cats are a favourite subject, I have 2, Bob and Beanie, both beautiful tabby girls. Flowers and architecture are favourites as well. I’ve always dipped in and out with my art over the years, presents for family and friends but now I'm taking the plunge and opening my shop. I’ll be adding other artwork, more wire pieces. I'm also revisiting my degree work art pieces, they’ve been hidden in my folder for way too long. I do hope you like what you see xxx
