One of my real joys is working in my workshop, playing music on my phone and making jewellery. Everyday is different, some days I can spend the day soldering. filing and polishing silver or choosing gemstones and sterling silver and getting all the components together to make earrings, bracelets or necklaces.
It wasn't until after I raised my children that my handmade journey truly began. Once the children left the "nest", I found myself somewhat of a void in my life and sought ways to fill it.
I had always been passionate about jewellery and decided to learn jewellery-making as a way to turn the page onto the next chapter in my life as a handmade jewellery designer.
I created my very first piece from the kitchen table, a pair of earrings, I was completely hooked, but I decided there and then, that I only wanted to work with real gemstones and Sterling Silver.
I went back to college and enrolled on a Silversmithing course and fell in love with using Sterling Silver and also raw Copper. It wasn't long however, until my unique handmade creations took over the kitchen and I persuaded my husband and son to build my very own workshop in the garden.
My jewellery journey is truly a labour of love, that I tend to like a blossoming garden.
With each piece I create, I put my heart and soul into it, I hope this is reflected in my jewellery.
Best of all, I love showing my adult children that you can carve out a new life for yourself.
I now have two little grandsons, working from home enables me to spend quality time with them, which I absolutely love and when they are a little older I am hoping they will enjoy making jewellery with me.
