I’ve always been deeply passionate about art, with a particular fascination for the energy and atmosphere of different spaces.
Based in the North West of England, I draw inspiration from both my Scottish and Canadian roots, as well as the landscapes that surround me—rolling countryside, dramatic coastlines, characterful towns and villages, and the wild beauty of nearby moorlands. These are places I know intimately, and I aim to capture their spirit and essence through my work.
I enjoy working with a wide variety of media, often experimenting with acrylics, oil pastels, watercolour, ink, and pencils. Each material brings its own unique qualities, and I love exploring how they can be combined or contrasted to create fresh perspectives.
When I’m not in the studio, you’ll often find me in the garden. I love growing organic fruit and vegetables, and there’s nothing more rewarding than cooking with ingredients I’ve nurtured myself. Recently, I’ve introduced raised beds and embraced the ‘no dig’ approach, which has made gardening even more enjoyable.
Outside of work, I like to relax with a good crime novel, especially one full of unexpected twists, or by playing games with friends. I’m also a lifelong animal lover—though I have to remind myself not to bring home every stray I encounter on my walks!
