Emma Louise Corry is a textile designer and maker who lives in Milton, Oxfordshire. Emma, using carefully chosen fabrics creates beautiful, detailed textiles.
Emma remembers the first time she borrowed her mother’s Elna sewing machine at 8 years old, spending many hours teaching herself how to sew with it. Recently, Emma bought the same Elna model to evoke these lovely memories of when her creative journey began.
Emma has always been creative – her mother tells stories of her making handmade paper in her blender and potato printing wrapping paper on their kitchen floor. However, Emma's love of textiles truly began when she started her two-year diploma at Worthing College for Art and Design in 1984.
After Emma's diploma, she completed a three-year degree course in Fashion and Textiles at Leicester Polytechnic, followed by a two-year MA in Woven Textile Design at the Royal College of Art in London (RCA). Graduating in 1991 in her early 20's.
After leaving the RCA, Emma worked as a freelance textile designer, before undertaking a role designing window displays. Emma then started her greetings card company in 1992, specialising in handmade cards. This company then grew into Emma Corry Designs, which Emma currently runs from her studio at home.

I always relish the opportunity to offer more props to ECD about what she creates. Every detailed piece is such a fine work of art and it’s always a JOY to gift. Emma is such a Folksy go-to of choice. From start to finish she never disappoints. And the receiver is always DELIGHTED!
