I have been interested in art for most of my life, well since the tender age of four when I first saw a paint easel at my playschool. I was painfully shy & it was the very first time that I had been left somewhere on my own. Scared, I remember focussing on that easel as if it were a lifeline, little did I know how important art would become to me throughout my life.

From that moment on I would often escape by reading books, my favourites often contained beautiful illustrations that helped bring the text to life, alongside reading I would draw, often drawings of nature & woodland animals.

I left school wanting to become a fulltime artist & spent a year at art college, hoping to go on to degree level, sadly life had other plans, but throughout that time my escape was to pick up a pencil & draw. I was also fortunate that working with children I was able to use my skill at times. Later in life I realised my dream to study at degree level which was wonderful.

My artwork has evolved over the years from mainly pet portraits to the illustrative work I now love creating. I was born and live in the West Midlands, with my family, Luna our Bernedoodle & my cat Pippin. Despite living in the industrial Midlands, which has aspects I am fascinated with, I have always been drawn to nature and all things Celtic, possibly due to my Welsh & Shropshire ancestry.

I aim to tell a story through my artwork, to capture a moment in time & transport the viewer into the pages of an unfolding story, dipping into themes of nature, Celtic symbolism, myth & sometimes with a hint of Gothic darkness.
