Hello there!
I’m Catherine an Illustrator & Designer, working from my home studio in a small village in Derbyshire, England, where I can usually be found listening to music as I create my playful illustrations.
My artwork often starts with the whisper of an idea, some research, rough sketches and a cup of Tea! Before moving on to using traditional mark making techniques such as Watercolour, Gouache and Coloured pencils. I love the use of traditional media for the beautiful happy accidents that often emerge, the unexpected textures and marks made by hand.
I usually refine these illustrations using digital tools to create my Whimsical designs which are available as greeting cards, art prints and gifts here in the shop.
For me inspiration comes from many sources, it could be for example, a love of colour from the landscape painting of Artist John Singer Sargent, a line from a song by Bruce Springsteen, or often the beauty that surrounds us both in Nature and Architecture.
