Jo Reed @ Beadtopia Studio
Born and raised on the edge of the Pennines I am never happier than when surrounded by rugged hills, whippets and cups of tea. I discovered a love of glass as a child, being fascinated with my grandmother’s vintage dressing table sets.
Years later after making jewellery as I hobby I was delighted to take a lampworking course and shortly afterwards a glass fusing course. I never looked back, setting up my studio shortly afterwards.
Around 2015, to further support my lamp work jewellery making I took a course with a local silversmith. More recently I have revisited this and enhanced my skills with silver clay.
My aim is for my jewellery to be both beautiful and tactile. I achieve this by focusing on texture alongside design. So touching your jewellery becomes part of the joy of wearing it.
