This sculpture celebrates the day time flying cinnabar moth, and its parent plant ragwort, unfairly persecuted by DEFRA. I made this at a time when I hadn't seen this moth in about 10 years, as living in the Devon countryside at the time, ragwort was pulled up by ill-informed people, including breaking into my garden to vandalise this native wild flower when it dared to raise its head. Another instance where a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!
